Fire Authority Leads County-Wide Fire Academy
Under the leadership of Captain Mowbray, Training Officer, the Brighton Area Fire Authority is leading the charge in the training of new firefighters. The academy has 19 students from 6 different fire departments across Livingston and Oakland County.
Brighton Area Fire Authority has seven students in the program which will be completed in September. The students have completed their basic medical training in a cooperative effort with Fowlerville Fire. The seven week medical first responder course has allowed these recruit firefighters to test for the National Registry and State Certification for Medical First Responder.
After the students complete the academy they will test for their certification in Firefighter One and Two with the State of Michigan and will complete all basic training for a firefighter in the State of Michigan.
If you think you have what it takes, the Brighton Area Fire Authority is taking applications for paid on call firefighters. The next session will start this summer. Click here for more information.
