The Brighton Area Fire Authority will officially transition from the 2021 International Fire Code (IFC) to the 2024 edition, effective June 1, 2025.
This update will apply to all fire prevention, inspection, and code enforcement activities conducted by the Authority. In anticipation of this transition, we are making the necessary updates to our mobile code set and internal procedures to align with the revised standards. This notice shall serve as communication to relevant service providers and stakeholders.
All written correspondence and documentation will be updated to reflect the adoption of the 2024 IFC. This ensures our external partners remain informed and compliant with the most current safety requirements.
Please note that any new construction projects, plan reviews, or inspections initiated on or after June 1, 2025, will be reviewed under the 2024 International Fire Code. We encourage all partners and service providers to review their practices and ensure they are consistent with the updated code requirements.
