Full-Time Firefighters at Brighton Area Fire Authority are highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting lives and property through emergency response and community education. They respond to a wide range of incidents, including fires, medical emergencies, accidents, and hazardous material situations, often being the first on the scene to provide aid and rescue. Beyond emergency response, firefighters maintain equipment, facilities, perform fire inspections, develop pre-incident surveys, and work to reduce the impact of fire on our communities. Their work requires physical and mental endurance, technical expertise, and unwavering teamwork.
What are the minimum qualifications to apply for Full-Time Firefighting Positions?
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must possess a valid State of Michigan Drivers License
State of Michigan VFIS Drivers Training Certificate
State of Michigan Firefighter l & ll
State of Michigan Hazardous Materials Operations
State of Michigan Emergency Medical Technician license or higher
ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800
