The Brighton Area Fire Authority is now hiring Full-Time Fire Protection Specialists to serve our communities of Genoa Township, the City of Brighton and Brighton Township.
The Fire Protection Specialist (FPS) engages in fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue, and community risk reduction activities to protect life and property. This position ensures the constant state of operational readiness of Authority personnel, equipment, facilities, and works to reduce the impact of fire on our communities. Work is subject to the hazards encountered in emergency fire and rescue operations, including the physical and mental demands inherent in public safety work. (Full job description SOP 213.1)
Requirements: State of Michigan Firefighter I & II & HazMat Operations certification; ICS 100/200/700/800; State of Michigan EMT License (by time of conditional offer)
Salary/Benefits: This position is considered full-time, non-exempt. Base salary may range from $63,034 to $73,034 based on current qualifications. Certification steps to achieve top base pay are provided. Schedule: 56 hours/week (24-hour shifts) with compensated FLSA overtime.
